The given times are to be considered guidelines. While level 9 means "strongest braking", level 0 means "free deceleration", whereby considerable fluctuations can occur with this uncontrolled deceleration depending upon the condition of the device and the load. The deceleration times for the 230 and 120 V devices are almost identical.

The writing on one rotor of the Centrifuge 5804/5804 R or 5810/5810 R says, for example, "6x125g". Does this mean that the centrifuge only enables an RCF of 125 or that it can only be loaded with a maximum of 6 times 125 gram?

How many times can aluminum rotors be autoclaved?

How are the Centrifuges 5804/5804 R and 5810/5810 R protected during transport? Is there a transport protection device? Back to top
'No, the Centrifuges 5804/5804 R and 5810/5810 R do not come with a transport protection device. They are packaged in polystyrene for protection. Because the rotor is not in the centrifuge during transport, there are no movable parts to make a transport protection device necessary.
Is it possible to centrifuge 50 ml and 15 ml tubes together in one rotor? Back to top
Yes, it is possible, provided that the rotor is loaded symmetrically. This means that the 50 ml tubes and the 15 ml tubes are positioned opposite one another and are positioned symmetrically. Please use the appropriate adapters for the tubes.
Can I still change the settings when I have started the Centrifuges 5804/5804 R or 5810/5810 R? Back to top
Yes, the speed, the time and the temperature can be changed even when the centrifuge is running. To do this, please press the SPEED, TIME or TEMP key and change the values by pressing the arrow keys.
Do the adapters for the 0.2/0.4/0.5/0.6 ml tubes, which are designed for the rotors F-45-30-11 and FA-45-30-11, also fit into the rotor F-34-6-38 with the adapter 5804 770.005 (for 1.5/2.0 ml tubes)? Back to top
Yes, these adapters can also be used in the rotor F-34-6-38 with the adapter 5804 770.005.
Does Eppendorf offer a rotor for PCR strips for Centrifuges 5804/5804 R or 5810/5810 R? Back to top
The PCR strip rotor F-45-48-PCR is available under the order number 5804 735.005. It can centrifuge up to 6 x 8-well strips at 12,000 rpm / 15,350 x g.
In which rotor is it possible to centrifuge 50 ml DIN glass tubes? Back to top
50 ml DIN glass tubes (diameter 34 mm, length 100 mm) can be centrifuged in the adapter for 50 - 75 ml tubes (order number 5804 760.000) of the swing-bucket rotor A-4-44. Depending on the length of the tube, the uppermost module of the adapter can be removed for centrifugation of 50 ml DIN glass tubes.
Is it possible to adjust the Centrifuge 5804/5804 R or 5810/5810 R so that it stops on its own, meaning without active braking? Back to top
Yes. Free deceleration of your centrifuge can be achieved by setting the braking level to 0.
The Centrifuges 5804/5804 R and 5810/5810 R are programmable. What is saved during the programming? Back to top
All data is saved that can also be entered manually, such as rotational speed or RCF, maximum radius, run time, acceleration and braking ramps, "at set rpm", temperature.
"Clean rotor" appears on the display of my centrifuge. Do I now need to remove the rotor from the centrifuge, and, if yes, how? Back to top
This display appears every 200 centrifugation runs. For cleaning the rotor and the rotor chamber, the rotor must first be removed from the centrifuge. To do this, loosen the rotor nut by turning it counter-clockwise with the supplied rotor key. Please clean the rotor and rotor chamber only with mild cleaning agents (e.g. 70% alcohol solutions or commercially available alcoholic disinfectants).
How can I recognize in the display of the Centrifuges 5804/5804 R or 5810/5810 R whether I have selected "rpm" or "rcf"? Back to top
For rcf, a "*" is displayed in front of the value. rpm is not indicated by a symbol.
Millipore offers centrifugation filter tubes (Centripreps). Can these tubes be centrifuged in a rotor of the Centrifuge 5804/5804 R or 5810/5810 R? Back to top
Yes, for 50 ml Centripreps we offer the adapter 5810 739.004 for the rotor A-4-81.
What is the minimum rotational speed (rpm) of the Centrifuge 5804/5804 R or 5810/5810 R, and in which increments can it be increased? Back to top
The minimum rotational speed is 200 rpm, irrespective of the inserted rotor. The minimum rotational speed can be increased in increments of 10 rpm up to 5,000 rpm and then in increments of 100 rpm.
Into which rotor of the Centrifuge 5804/5804 R or 5810/5810 R do 15 ml and 30 ml Corex tubes fit? Back to top
With a rubber adapter (outer diameter 18 mm) available from the tube manufacturer, the 15 ml Corex tubes fit into the adapter 5804 772.008 of the rotor F-34-6-38. With a rubber adapter (outer diameter 29 mm) available from the tube manufacturer, the 30 ml Corex tubes fit into the adapter 5804 774.000 of the rotor F-34-6-38. This rotor can be inserted into the Centrifuge 5804/5804 R or 5810/5810 R.
How big is the g-force difference between the lowest and the highest plate when loading a bucket of the rotor A-2-DWP with four microplates? Back to top
    The following g-forces are reached with the rotor A-2-DWP: Lowest plate: 2,250 x g Highest plate: 1,825 x g
Is there an adapter for slides? Back to top
Up to 12 slides can be inserted into the CombiSlide adapter and then centrifuged in the swing-bucket rotors of Centrifuge 5804/5804 R or 5810/5810 R.
Do 4 microplate buckets (order number 5810 702.003) also fit into the rotor A-4-62 (5810 709.008)? Back to top
Yes. It is the same rotor cross. Please note that mixed loading of the rotor with rectangular buckets and MTP buckets is not permitted.
Can the rotor A-4-81 be operated with rectangular buckets and MTP / Flex buckets? Back to top
Yes, this so-called mixed loading is possible. Please ensure that the same type of buckets are always used in opposing positions.
There are 2 different adapters for the 15 ml tubes. One for tubes with round bottoms and one with a conical bottom for Falcon tubes. Can I not use one adapter for both tubes? Back to top
No, unfortunately this is not possible. In order to be able to reach the high rotational speeds, the adapters must be form-locking.
Do the adapters for the 0.5 ml tubes fit into the rack for 1.5/2.0 ml tubes of the rotor T-60-11? Back to top
Yes, the adapters can be inserted into the rotor for centrifugation of 0.5 ml tubes.
The writing on one rotor of the Centrifuge 5804/5804 R or 5810/5810 R says, for example, "6x125g". Does this mean that the centrifuge only enables an RCF of 125 or that it can only be loaded with a maximum of 6 times 125 gram? Back to top
This label states that the rotor can be loaded with a maximum of 6 x 125 gram. "g" is the official abbreviation for "gram". Where "g" is used as an abbreviation of "g-force", the number and "x g" are used. Example: 10,800 x g.
How many times can aluminum rotors be autoclaved? Back to top
Aluminum rotors can be autoclaved up to 100 times for 20 minutes at 121 °C.
