Centrifuge 5810 / 5810 R
Centrifuge 5810/5810 R is a workhorse for medium to high-throughput laboratories. It combines extraordinary versatility and capacity for both tubes and plates with an extraordinary compact footprint.
Eppendorf Multipurpose Centrifuges feature powerful, maintenance-free motors, and they accommodate a variety of rotors for unparalleled application versatility. They are three centrifuges in one: a high capacity general purpose centrifuge for cell harvesting; a high-speed centrifuge for separating cell lysates; and a micro centrifuge for DNA precipitations.

No, the Centrifuges 5804/ 5804 R and 5810/ 5810 R do not come with a transport protection device. They are packaged in polystyrene for protection. Because the rotor is not in the centrifuge during transport, there are no movable parts to make a transport protection device necessary.
Yes, the speed, the time and the temperature can be changed even when the centrifuge is running. To do this, please press the SPEED, TIME or TEMP key and change the values by pressing the arrow keys.
The minimum rotational speed is 200 rpm, irrespective of the inserted rotor. The minimum rotational speed can be increased in increments of 10 rpm up to 5,000 rpm and then in increments of 100 rpm.
This display appears every 200 centrifugation runs. For cleaning the rotor and the rotor chamber, the rotor must first be removed from the centrifuge. To do this, loosen the rotor nut by turning it counter-clockwise with the supplied rotor key. Please clean the rotor and rotor chamber only with mild cleaning agents (e.g. 70% alcohol solutions or commercially available alcoholic disinfectants).
All data is saved that can also be entered manually, such as rotational speed or RCF, maximum radius, run time, acceleration and braking ramps, "at set rpm", temperature.
Yes, it is possible, provided that the rotor is loaded symmetrically. This means that the 50 mL tubes and the 15 mL tubes are positioned opposite one another and are positioned symmetrically. Please use the appropriate adapters for the tubes.
50 mL DIN glass tubes (diameter 34 mm, length 100 mm) can be centrifuged in the adapter for 50 - 75 mL tubes (order number 5804 760.000) of the swing-bucket rotor A-4-44 or adapter 5810 760.003 of swing-bucket rotor A-4-62 . Depending on the length of the tube, the uppermost module of the adapter can be removed for centrifugation of 50 mL DIN glass tubes.
With a rubber adapter (outer diameter 18 mm) available from the tube manufacturer, the 15 mL Corex tubes fit into the adapter 5804 772.008 of the rotor F-34-6-38. With a rubber adapter (outer diameter 29 mm) available from the tube manufacturer, the 30 mL Corex tubes fit into the adapter 5804 774.000 of the rotor F-34-6-38. This rotor can be inserted into the Centrifuge 5804/5804 R or 5810/5810 R.
Up to 12 slides can be inserted into the CombiSlide adapter and then centrifuged in the swing-bucket rotors of Centrifuge 5804/ 5804 R or 5810/ 5810 R.
This label states that the rotor can be loaded with a maximum of 6 ×125 gram. "g" is the official abbreviation for "gram". Where "g" is used as an abbreviation of "g-force", the number and "x g" are used. Example: 10,800 ×g.
Yes, you can use the new rotors from software version 8.4 onwards. From versionb 7.0 on a software update to version 8.4 can easily be performed by trained service technician. In case of older software versions, the complete PCB control/frequency converter must be replaced. You can see the current software version of your centrifuge briefly on the display after switching it on.
A new rotor automatically will be recognized as soon as it starts moving. Moving and recognition of the rotor can be performed manually by making it spin counterclockwise (roughly 200 rpm necessary), or by turning the Centrifuge on. As soon as the rotor starts spinning it will be recognized. When indicated, the Centrifuge shuts down under specification of max. speed in case the indicated max. speed of the previous rotor was higher. In this case the Centrifuge must be restarted.
Only a limited choice of 72 cm2 flasks are possible to be centrifuged: We recommend to use Saarstedt flasks (Article number 831811-002) with the cell culture flask adapter (Article number 5825 719.000) in combination with rotor A-4-81-MTP/Flex or A-4-62-MTP and Centrifuge 5810/ R.
