EPPENDORF twin.tec® PCR Plates
PCR plates don't have to be boring! Purity, rigidity, colour and other smart features can make your life a lot easier. The twin.tec has a lot of benefits to offer, particularly in automation and high throughput processes. The rigid polycarbonate frame works well in automation and different colours will organise the different steps of your workflow.
Eppendorf® twin.tec PCR plates give you the advantages that come from combining two materials: the wells are manufactured from polypropylene, the frame is made of polycarbonate.
Polycarbonate enhances the mechanical stability and facilitates handling for the twin.tec PCR plates, especially in automated systems.
Polypropylene gives the wells an inert surface that prevents DNA, RNA and enzymes from binding and improves recovery even when you are working with low volumes.
Eppendorf® twin.tec PCR plates offer wells of reduced wall thickness. This guarantees a snug fit of the well to the thermal block and ensures optimal heat transfer.
Raised rims of the wells optimise sealing efficiency and reduce the risk of cross contamination.

Yes. PC plates and sealing options are certified with "PCR-Clean". This certificate stands for guaranteed freedom from human DNA, DNase, RNase and PCR inhibitors.
For molecular-biological requirements Eppendorf offers a new standard for uniform purity specifications. All consumables marked with the "Certified PCR Clean” label are guaranteed free of human DNA, DNase, RNase and PCR inhibitors. This new standard applies to 0.2 mL and 0.5 mL tubes, PCR Plate 96s, all options for plate sealing, in situ frames and deep well plates and mats.
Heat sealing is the only method which enables a 100% hermetic sealing. We recommend using the heat sealer and the Peel-it-Lite heat sealing foil from Eppendorf, which is suitable for storage temperatures down to – 200 °C. To recover the products, the sealing is simply removed manually.
The heat sealer from Eppendorf in combination with heat sealing foils or films offers the best sealing. Another effective method is to use Eppendorf cap strips. For sealing with cap strips, we recommend using the capping aid, an inexpensive tool for producing a very effective seal as cannot be obtained by setting on the caps with the fingers alone.
